I don't get the science behind this but it really does work by just spraying and walking away. I have an epileptic dog who frequently leaves urine, feces, and saliva spots on the carpet during seizures. This spray removes stains and odors very effectively. It isn't going to completely eliminate the smell from a full puddle of urine, but it is great for lighter spots or to use after you've blotted and scrubbed the spot with cleaner first. This will dissipate any remaining smell and stain. WARNING I learned the hard way do not use this on JUTE. It ruined my jute rug by bleaching it stark white, but it works great on my cotton and polyester rugs.
